According to their relevance to our research questions, we evaluated the found articles using the inclusion and exclusion criteria provided in Table 3. Exploring the pedagogical uses of AI chatbots

In comparison, 88% of the students in (Daud et al., 2020) found the tool highly useful. Five articles (13.88%) presented desktop-based chatbots, which were utilized for various purposes. For example, one chatbot focused on the students’ learning styles and personality features (Redondo-Hernández & Pérez-Marín, 2011). As another example, the SimStudent chatbot is a teachable agent that students can teach (Matsuda et al., 2013).

With the advent of mobile learning chatbots, learning has been transformed into something more open, individualized, interactive, and engaging for learners of all backgrounds and abilities. These smart digital assistants have the potential to revolutionize the way we study by offering instantaneous guidance and feedback to students wherever they may be. Chatbots have the potential to radically alter the way humans acquire knowledge because of their adaptability, ease of use, and integration with VR/AR technologies. There is no doubt that the widespread adoption of these tools by both teachers and students will usher in a new era of interactive and engaging learning. Mobile learning chatbots can be useful in the classroom, but only if the correct platform, customization, integration, training, monitoring, data protection, and security precautions are considered. By following these guidelines, educational institutions can leverage chatbots to improve instruction and equip students for success in the digital age.
Learners can naturally converse with them because they were made to mimic human conversation. Because of their intelligence, these chatbots can provide individualized lessons, instantaneous responses to questions, and ongoing guidance to students as they progress through their courses. I would like to share with eLearning Industry’s community members my own insights related to AI-powered chatbots with a peculiar focus on remote education.
Converse with chatbots naturally for open-ended tasks
This article explores the ways in which e-learning and chatbots are reshaping STEM education, providing students with unprecedented benefits and opportunities. To summarize, incorporating AI chatbots in education brings personalized learning for students and time efficiency for educators. However, concerns arise regarding the accuracy of information, fair assessment practices, and ethical considerations. Striking a balance between these advantages and concerns is crucial for responsible integration in education. This study applies an interventional study using a quasi-experimental design approach. Creswell (2012) explained that education-based research in most cases requires intact groups, and thus creating artificial groups may disrupt classroom learning.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots in education has the potential to revolutionize how students learn and interact with information.
We observed and championed the integration of chatbots into Learning Management Systems. So, let’s talk about a few ways chatbots are already changing education and corporate training by providing answers that seemed impossible just a few years ago. It demonstrated the power of natural language processing and machine learning algorithms in understanding complex questions and providing accurate answers. More recently, in 2016, Facebook opened its Messenger platform for chatbot development, allowing businesses to create AI-powered conversational agents to interact with users. This led to an explosion of chatbots on the platform, enabling tasks like customer support, news delivery, and e-commerce (Holotescu, 2016).
While e-learning and chatbot technology offer a number of benefits for STEM education, there are also some challenges that need to be addressed. Essays offer much better insight into a student’s level of knowledge, methodology, and problem-solving skill, but they are much harder to grade and assess. Ashok science professor at Georgia Tech, is one of the first teachers to simplify his work in this way, with the help of artificial intelligence. The bot answers students’ questions on an online forum and provides technical information about courses and lectures. They engage in a dialogue with each student and determine the areas where they are falling behind.
This level of proactive support enhances learner engagement and overall success in training and education. Although mobile learning chatbots have shown great promise as instructional aids, they have several limits that must be considered. Learners in places with limited or no access to the Internet may struggle to use chatbots since they cannot operate without access to the Internet.
They help right away, make learning more personal, make school more interesting, and handle administrative chores well. Even though there are problems, the future looks bright because technology keeps getting better. So, the next time you learn with a chatbot, remember that you’re not just chatting; you’re part of a change in education. Chatbots allow companies and learning institutions to get a bigger-picture view of the learning process. This is especially valid for corporations that practice e-learning on a regular basis.
For example, users can prompt chatbots to generate explanations and analogies for concepts based on your or your students’ interests or to ask open-ended questions that encourage further thinking. Chatbots may be better at tutoring certain subjects than others, so be sure to try it out first to assess the helpfulness of the responses. Education is changing rapidly, and the old one-size-fits-all approach is no longer effective. Students have diverse learning styles and unique needs, and it’s crucial to adapt to these individual preferences. Traditional educational methods are in need of an upgrade to provide more personalized and engaging learning experiences.
